On Saturday 22 November, Sarah McCarthy-Fry and Labour councillor Sarah Cook joined local residents to protest against the planned closure of Twyford Avenue Post Office. Sarah
said “ Many local elderly people came along on a very cold morning to show the strength of feeling in this area. It is clear this is an an issue of great concern to the local community.”
“Whilst there must be a fair deal for the taxpaying public, it is also vital that we have good Post Office provision in Portsmouth. Post Offices are a vital service to many people, especially
the elderly. Twyford Avenue is a well used, profitable Post Office and it makes no sense to close it ”
