At the Labour Party Conference in Manchester Sarah collared Defence Secretary Des Browne to leave him in no doubt how the people of Portsmouth felt about the Review of Naval Bases.

Sarah said “We all accept that the modern navy has to be efficient and we need to make sure that maximum resources are spent on equipping our forces, but I wanted Des to know that we are confident Portsmouth Naval Base can meet that challenge.”
