Labour has only been in government for four short periods of the 20th century. However its achievements have revolutionised the lives of the British people. The values Labour stands for today
are those which have guided it throughout its existence.
• social justice
• strong community and strong values
• reward for hard work
• decency
• rights matched by responsibilities
Portsmouth Labour Party covers the two parliamentary constituencies of Portsmouth North and Portsmouth South but meets as one party.
We are currently organised into branches that reflect the local government wards but we are continually looking for ways to communicate and involve our members and welcome any ideas from members
how to improve our organisation.
Do you feel the same way we do about the kind of Britain you want to live in?
A Britain where the economy is strong and stable; where there is a first-class health service free at the point of use; where education is always a priority; and where you and your family are
treated equally and can feel safe and secure.
Labour party members contribute to Government policy through our Partnership in Power Programme which includes local and national Policy Forums. Individual members also choose our local, national
and European government representatives. To become a member, please e-mail your details to the address below putting "Membership Enquiry" as the subject line: portsmouthlabour@party.wanadoo.co.uk
