Labour MP Sarah McCarthy-Fry and Labour Councillor Sarah Cook together are spearheading the local campaign to save Twyford Avenue Post Office from closure. They have been out and about gathering
signatures for a petition and asking local residents to write individual letters to the Post Office to explain just why this particular Post Office is so important to local people.
Sarah McCarthy-Fry said "The Post Office have just drawn lines on a map, they have not taken into account the difficulties people round here would have in accessing the Post Office in North End. It
may look close on a map but there are two very busy main roads to cross and the bus service is infrequent and unreliable. There are no other facilities here in Stamshaw, people rely totally on the
Post Office."
The two Sarah's are busy making plans for a mass rally outside the Post Office on Saturday 24th November - watch this space for more details.
