Sarah McCarthy-Fry, Labour / Co-operative MP for Portsmouth North, has thrown her weight behind a campaign to make Portsmouth a Cycling Demonstration Town.  Cycling England are looking for a new city and ten new towns to join the six existing Cycling Demonstration Towns and the Portsmouth North MP would like Portsmouth to be one of them. 

Sarah said “Portsmouth being a mostly flat city makes it an ideal place for cycling.  Our extensive network of cycle lanes on major roads and our 20 mph limit on residential streets means it is a safe place for cyclists of all ages.  I fully support the campaign to make Portsmouth a Cycling Demonstration Town.”
