On Friday Sarah visited the Spinnaker Tower. The visit coincided with the second annual British Tourism Week (10 - 18 March) during which a series of inter-related events will take place throughout
the UK. Run by various tourism experts, British Tourism Week hopes to raise national and international awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain's £85 billion visitor economy.
In visiting the Tower Sarah championed the world-class credentials both of Portsmouth as a holiday destination and of the iconic Spinnaker Tower that lies at the heart of the city. Sarah said:
"I once again enjoyed experiencing the unique views that the Spinnaker Tower has to offer and in the process helping to let the nation and the world at large know that this is one of the UK's
premier visitor attractions.
It is a splendid symbol for Portsmouth - a hospitable city that enjoys a vibrant mixture of heritage, entertainment, shopping, arts, restaurants, bars and events. It's time for people to sit up and
take notice of this cosmopolitan corner of Britain and I hope I can facilitate this in some small way."
The Spinnaker Tower is open daily from 10am (excluding Christmas Day). See http://www.spinnakertower.co.uk/ or call 02392 857520 to book in
